Why US Founders Choose Us
Launch with 250 units, not 10,000
Many large manufacturers set minimums in the thousands per product. For a new brand, or an established one testing a new product, that is a big commitment before a single customer has tried it.
- Small first runs. White label from 50 units. Private label and custom formulation from 250, depending on the project.
- Flexible ways to work. Custom formulation, private label, or manufacturing only from your own formula.
- For every stage of growth. From first-time founders to established brands adding a product or production capacity.
- Quotes in US dollars. No currency guesswork when you plan your margins.
- You keep the formula. With custom formulation, full ownership transfers to your brand once the project is fully paid, so you are never locked to one lab.
- One lab, start to finish. Formulation, testing, filling and documentation under one roof.
Built For US Rules
MoCRA and FDA, planned from day one
Selling cosmetics in the US now comes with real paperwork. Formyoule™ operates a Canadian cosmetic manufacturing facility registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA). Registration is not FDA approval or certification. Product-specific requirements, such as safety substantiation, labeling, claims, product listing where applicable, and import, depend on your product and how the project is set up, and we review them with you.
Every run leaves the lab with a full INCI list and safety documentation, and we guide you on the labeling your product needs for the US market. If you are new to the rules, our plain-English guide to what MoCRA means for indie beauty brands is a good place to start.

Minimums & Timelines
The numbers US founders ask about first
- White label: from 50 units, starting at about 6 to 8 weeks.
- Private label: from 250 units, starting at about 6 to 8 weeks.
- Custom formulation: from 250 units, about 6 to 8 weeks of development.
- Contract manufacturing: from 250 units, about 8 to 12 weeks once your formula is confirmed.
Minimums apply to eligible projects and depend on the formulation, packaging and production requirements. Packaging is usually the real constraint rather than the formula: component suppliers set their own minimums, and we flag them early so they never arrive as a surprise. We give you a realistic date at the quote stage rather than an optimistic one.

How It Works
From idea to US shelf: your manufacturing roadmap
Six stages, from your first call to a finished product ready for the US market. Each one shows what happens and what to have ready.
01
Discovery
A free call about your product idea, your market, your volumes and your timeline.
You prepare: your concept and where you plan to sell.
02
Formulation or formula review
We develop a custom formula, adapt a private label base, or review the formula you already have.
You prepare: your brief, or your existing formula and ingredient list.
03
Testing and documentation
Samples, refinements and stability testing, plus the INCI list and safety documentation.
You prepare: feedback on samples and the claims you plan to make.
04
Manufacturing and packaging
Your batch is produced, filled and labeled in our lab, in packaging we source or you supply.
You prepare: approved packaging and final label artwork.
05
US shipping and import
We plan the shipment with you and provide the product documentation your import needs.
You prepare: who acts as importer, and your customs broker if you use one.
06
Ready for market
Finished products arrive ready for your launch, with the records you keep for your files.
You prepare: your own MoCRA steps, such as product listing, where they apply.
Regulatory and import planning starts at the first call, not at shipping. This roadmap is an overview of the process, not a guarantee of regulatory approval or market readiness: requirements depend on your product and your business. The full version is on our process page.
Choosing A Partner
What to consider when choosing your cosmetic manufacturing partner
Location is only one factor. These are the questions worth asking any manufacturer, including us, before you commit.
Minimum order quantities
Ask: what is the smallest first run you can make for my product, and what sets that number?
At Formyoule: runs start at 250 units for eligible projects. The final minimum depends on the formulation, packaging and production, and we confirm it at the quote.
Formulation flexibility
Ask: can I start from a proven base, develop something custom, or bring my own formula?
At Formyoule: all three. Private label bases, custom formulation, or manufacturing only from your formula.
Development support
Ask: who develops and adjusts the formula, and how are sample rounds handled?
At Formyoule: development happens in our own lab, with sample rounds and refinements built in before production.
Regulatory responsibilities
Ask: which US obligations sit with the manufacturer, and which sit with my brand?
At Formyoule: our Canadian facility is registered with the FDA under MoCRA (registered, not FDA approved), and we provide the INCI list and safety documentation. Your brand’s own obligations are reviewed with you for each project.
Production timelines
Ask: what is a realistic date for my first batch, including packaging lead times?
At Formyoule: you get a realistic timeline at the quote stage, and we flag packaging lead times early.
Logistics
Ask: how will finished goods reach the US, and who handles customs and import?
At Formyoule: finished goods ship to you in the US. Customs documents and import responsibilities are agreed before your order ships.

Why should a US beauty brand choose Formyoule instead of a US manufacturer?
Choosing a manufacturing partner is about more than location. Formyoule offers US beauty brands access to custom formulation, private label, and small-batch cosmetic manufacturing, with minimum orders starting at 250 units for eligible projects.
Whether you’re developing your first product or expanding an established collection, our flexible approach allows you to explore production options aligned with your brand’s stage and requirements.
Will US tariffs affect cosmetics manufactured in Canada?
Tariffs and import duties depend on the product’s classification, country of origin, and applicable trade regulations. Some products may qualify for preferential treatment under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), subject to the applicable rules of origin and current trade measures.
We recommend reviewing the import requirements for your specific products before finalizing shipping arrangements.
What does MoCRA mean for US beauty brands manufacturing in Canada?
The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) introduced additional requirements for cosmetic products marketed in the United States. Depending on the business and product, these may include facility registration, product listing, safety substantiation, and other regulatory obligations.
Certain small-business exemptions may apply. Requirements should be assessed based on the product, manufacturing arrangements, and the responsibilities of the parties involved.
Formyoule operates a Canadian cosmetic manufacturing facility registered with the FDA under MoCRA. Registration is not FDA approval. We provide the INCI list and safety documentation for each product.
Can I manufacture my beauty products in Canada and sell them in the US?
Yes. Beauty brands can manufacture cosmetic products in Canada for the US market, provided the products satisfy applicable US regulatory and import requirements.
Important considerations include ingredients, labeling, safety documentation, product claims, customs clearance, and applicable MoCRA obligations.
Can I start with 250 units instead of thousands?
Formyoule offers manufacturing options starting at 250 units for eligible projects. This allows emerging brands to explore smaller initial production runs and gives established brands additional flexibility when developing new products.
Minimum quantities depend on the formulation, packaging, and production requirements.
Can Formyoule support an existing US brand looking to expand?
Yes. Formyoule works with both emerging and established beauty brands. Whether you’re developing a new product, reviewing an existing formula, or seeking a manufacturing and filling partner, we can evaluate your requirements and recommend an appropriate production approach.
How does the manufacturing and shipping process work for US brands?
Your project begins with an assessment of your product concept, formulation status, and manufacturing requirements. Depending on the service, the process may include formulation development, testing, packaging coordination, production, and shipment planning.
For US-bound products, relevant documentation, customs arrangements, and import responsibilities should be considered before shipment.
Can I get my quote in US dollars?
Yes. US brands are quoted in US dollars, so you can plan your pricing and margins without converting currencies.
How long until my product is ready?
White label and private label projects start at about 6 to 8 weeks, custom formulation development takes about 6 to 8 weeks, and manufacturing takes about 8 to 12 weeks once your formula is confirmed. Timelines depend on the complexity of the project.
Do I own my formula?
With custom formulation, yes. Full ownership transfers to your brand once the project is fully paid, so you are never locked to one lab. With private label, the formula is yours too. With white label, the formula stays ours and you use it under your brand.
