What It Is
A finished product waiting for your label
White label is the most direct arrangement in manufacturing. The formula is finished, the packaging options are set, and what changes is the branding on the outside. You are buying a product that already exists and making it yours at the label.
It is worth being clear about the trade-off rather than dressing it up: the same base may be sold to other brands. What you gain is speed and a very low barrier to entry. What you give up is exclusivity.
For a first product, a seasonal add-on, or a category you want to test before investing properly, that is often an entirely sensible trade.
Why Brands Choose It
Speed, and a much smaller commitment
- The shortest lead time of any route we offer
- No development cost and no formulation risk
- Small runs from 250 units per SKU
- A cheap way to test whether a category sells before committing
- Useful for events, retail launches and gifting ranges with a fixed date
- A clear upgrade path: move to private label or custom formulation once it proves itself

The Honest Comparison
White label, private label or custom
These three terms are used loosely across the industry, often interchangeably, which makes it hard to compare quotes. Here is how we use them.
White label is a finished formula with your branding. Private label is a proven base adapted to your brand, with scent, colour, strength and packaging adjusted. Custom formulation is an original formula developed from your brief, which you then own.
Choosing between them
- Need product quickly and cheaply to test a market: white label
- Want a considered range that still feels like your brand: private label
- Your formula is the reason people buy from you: custom formulation
- Not sure yet: start white label and upgrade once you have sales data
We will tell you which of the three you actually need on the first call, including when that is the cheapest option rather than the most expensive one.
Is It Right For You
When white label makes sense
White label works when speed matters more than exclusivity: a retail deadline, a launch event, a category test, or a founder who wants to prove demand before spending on development.
It is the wrong choice if your brand story rests on a unique formulation, or if you are entering a crowded category where a shared base would be obvious to your customers. In those cases the saving is false economy.
Ideal for
Entrepreneurs entering the market quickly, and established brands testing a new category before committing to their own formula.
